This cigar holder/divot tool is made from Cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa), a beautiful and dense wood in the Rosewood family. It has a specific gravity of .9-1.1 which makes it a member of the ironwood class. Cocobolo is a naturally oily wood and like all rosewoods gives off a sweet smell when worked, hence the family name. It's a particularly beautiful wood with an alternating grain of red and black, often in very wavy patterns.
This is a relatively large tool, 2-7/8" long and 7/8" wide. The cigar cradle is a generous 15/16" long and 5/8" wide, large enough to comfortably hold a Toro or Robusto and could take a Presidente in a pinch. Weight is 5.57 grams. Beautifully finished in Teak Oil and buffed with pure Carnuba Wax.
